National Stock Exchange of India Limited
Bandra Kurla Complex
NSE was set up in 1992 at the Government’s instance to bring screen-based trading to India and began operations in 1994 from Exchange Plaza in Bandra Kurla Complex.
BSE is Asia’s oldest stock exchange, begun in 1875 as the Native Share and Stock Brokers’ Association under a banyan tree near Horniman Circle, and housed since 1980 in the 29-storey Phiroze Jeejeebhoy Towers on Dalal Street. It demutualised in 2005 and listed on the rival NSE in 2017.
The Sensex, its index of thirty companies, is the number India reads every evening. BSE lists more companies than any other exchange in the world, runs the SME platform BSE SME, and owns the India International Exchange at GIFT City.
