LIC was formed in 1956 when the Government nationalised 245 private life insurers, and its central office is Yogakshema on Jeevan Bima Marg at Nariman Point.
Hindustan Unilever, India’s largest consumer goods company and the Indian arm of Unilever, is headquartered at Unilever House in Andheri East since 2010, having moved from Backbay Reclamation; its brands — Lifebuoy, Surf, Lux, Dove, Horlicks, Brooke Bond — are in most Indian homes.
