Home Textiles at Lower Parel and Parel
Bed, bath and furnishing textiles, much of it for export.
Mumbai was built on cotton. The mills that gave the city its shape are mostly gone, but the trade they created remains — the cloth markets at Kalbadevi, the branded apparel companies headquartered here, and the powerloom and warehousing belt at Bhiwandi that feeds them.
