Filmistan at S. V. Road, Goregaon West, was founded in 1943 by Sashadhar Mukherjee, Ashok Kumar and others who left Bombay Talkies; its floors and outdoor sets are still in daily use for television serials and advertising.
It is one of the oldest working studios in the city.
