Bhandup and Kanjurmarg are the stretch of the Central Line between Vikhroli and Mulund: once chemical and engineering factories, now largely residential towers, with the Bhandup pumping station that supplies much of the city’s water, the salt pans and mangroves along the creek, and the Kanjurmarg land that the Metro car-shed dispute was fought over. The Kanjurmarg cha Raja is a large Ganpati mandal.
Neither is a destination; both are where a great many people live.
