Dahisar is the northern boundary of Greater Mumbai on the western side, at the Dahisar river and the check-naka where the city ends and Mira-Bhayandar begins. It is residential, with the national park on its east and the mangroves on its west, and the Metro lines 2A and 7 start here, which has made it the interchange for the far northern suburbs.
The river, once a stream through farmland, is the subject of a restoration effort.
