Goregaon has Film City — Dadasaheb Phalke Chitranagari, the state-run studio complex — on its eastern hills at the edge of the national park, the Bombay Exhibition Centre (NESCO) on the Western Express Highway, the Oberoi Mall, and a large residential suburb on both sides of the line: Bangur Nagar and the old Catholic village on the west, the Aarey colony road and the Film City approach on the east.
Aarey Milk Colony, the dairy land and forest beside Film City, is the other long-running argument about open land in the city.
