Kandivali is a large residential suburb on both sides of the line: Mahavir Nagar and the Charkop MHADA sectors on the west, with the Charkop village and the creek beyond; Thakur Village, Lokhandwala Township and the national park boundary on the east. Poisar, the old village, is in the middle. The Gujarati and Jain thali houses and farsan shops it shares with Borivali are on the dining pages.
It is one of the most densely populated suburbs in the city and almost entirely residential.
