Khar West is the suburb that Bandra’s money moved into when Pali Hill filled up: residential, tree-lined, with the designer studios and boutiques on 14th and 16th Roads, the antique and furniture dealers, Khar Gymkhana, and the Danda fishing village at the sea. Khar East, across the tracks, is the older and denser side.
It shares Linking Road with Bandra and is where several of the names on the Indian designer page keep their studios.
