Malad runs from the Mindspace IT park and Infiniti Mall on the New Link Road out to the Marve, Aksa and Manori beaches and the East Indian villages behind them, with the Malad creek and mangroves between. Malad East is residential and runs up to the national park. Orlem is the old Catholic village; the Jain kitchens and the Borivali-Kandivali farsan trade are on the dining pages.
The ferry from Marve to Manori and the Gorai beach beyond is the city’s short-distance escape.
