About India Government Mint
Mint Road is named for it. Coin is still struck in Mumbai.
The Mumbai mint is one of the four India Government Mints and has struck coin on this site since the early nineteenth century. Mint Road takes its name from it.
It is a secure government facility and is not open to visitors. The Reserve Bank Monetary Museum nearby is where its output can actually be looked at.
