About Lokhandwala Complex
Reclaimed and built out in the 1980s; now the address most associated with television and the audition circuit.
Reclaimed and built out through the 1980s at Andheri West, on what had been marsh and mangrove.
It became the address of television — actors, writers, casting offices and the audition circuit — and the market, salons and gyms that serve them. The remaining mangrove and the Lokhandwala lake are a flamingo and bird site, and a long-running conservation argument.
