Mazagon Dock, the Government shipyard at Mazagaon on the eastern waterfront, builds warships and submarines for the Navy — the Scorpène submarines and the Visakhapatnam-class destroyers — on a site that has built ships since the 1770s; it is listed on the exchanges.
It is the largest defence shipyard in the country.
