Borivali is the suburb at the main gate of the Sanjay Gandhi National Park, on the east side, and on the west side runs out through Gorai Creek to the Gorai and Manori beaches, the East Indian villages there, the Global Vipassana Pagoda and Essel World. The station is a terminus for many Western Line locals and the start of the fast trains to Virar; the suburb itself is Gujarati, Marathi and Catholic in its old parts.
The Borivali and Kandivali thali houses and farsan shops are on the dining pages.
