About Hindu Colony
An Improvement Trust colony, tree-lined, and home to much of Marathi literary and professional Bombay.
One of the residential colonies laid out under the 1899 Dadar-Matunga-Wadala-Sion scheme. Tree-lined streets, low buildings, and a particular quiet for a locality this central.
It housed much of Marathi literary, academic and professional Bombay through the twentieth century, and still does. It is residential — worth walking through, nothing to visit.
