About National Stock Exchange
NSE was set up in 1992 as the first fully electronic exchange in India and began trading in 1994. By volume it is the largest exchange in the country and among the largest in the world; the NIFTY 50 is its index.
Its headquarters at Exchange Plaza in BKC is the reason the financial district moved north from Dalal Street. The old exchange, BSE, is still in Fort.
