About Chheda Dryfruits
One of the better-known mewa shops in Mumbai, at Shivaji Park. Almonds, cashew, pista, walnut, anjeer, kesar, and the made-up festive hampers that go out by the hundred before Diwali.
Dry fruit is a gifting trade in this city as much as a food one, and the mewa shop is the institution that serves it. Buying here is done by grade and by price per kilo, asked for at the counter — the difference between two grades of almond is the whole conversation.
