Colaba Causeway, Mumbai

Retail street trading at the southern tip.

The Causeway was built in 1838 to join Colaba to Bombay island. It is now the best-known shopping street in the city: a pavement market of clothes, jewellery, bags, curios and books running past old arcaded buildings, with Leopold Cafe, the Taj and the Gateway at its southern end.
