Vashi APMC Market, Mumbai

The wholesale agricultural produce market that supplies the city.

The Agricultural Produce Market Committee complex at Vashi, in Navi Mumbai, is where the food that feeds Mumbai actually arrives. Five separate wholesale markets — grain, spices, fruit, vegetables, onion and potato — moved here from the old city from the 1980s to relieve the congestion at Crawford Market and Masjid Bunder.

It is a trade complex, not a shopping destination, and it works overnight and early morning.
