India’s designer fashion business is run from Mumbai and Delhi, and the Mumbai side sits in three pockets: Kala Ghoda and Colaba for the multi-brand stores, Kemps Corner and Breach Candy for the older couture houses, and Khar and Bandra for the studios that dress the film industry.
Bridal is the commercial engine. Most couture flagships are built around it, and appointments are normal rather than optional — walking in during wedding season is not realistic.
