Mumbai buys jewellery in two registers. Zaveri Bazaar at Kalbadevi is the wholesale and family jeweller trade — gold by weight, hallmarked, bought for weddings and as savings — and it has been in the same lanes for over a century. The branded and luxury end sits in the malls and hotel arcades.
For Swiss watches the authorised boutiques are at Palladium, Jio World Plaza and the hotel arcades. The grey market is not worth the saving once you need a service.
